Scholarships and Awards

Emerging artists have shaped our collections since its early years. Our first ‘scholar’, Robert Herdman was commissioned to make copies from Italian galleries in the 1850s, while today the John Kinross Scholarship collection is the most significant of emerging artists’ and architects’ work in Scotland. The blueprint of the Kinross Scholarship has inspired other growing collections from our programmes of scholarships and awards.
