Admirers
Artist: Cobb, Bethany · b. 1969
The drawing appears to have been made from a photograph.
A pencil line tracing the form of the man’s cap and glasses can be seen and there is some evidence of the drawing having been pricked out. There are also incised grid marks on the drawing that suggest that it was initially squared up but the grid was then erased.
Whilst most of the Kinross Scholars respond to the architecture or the artworks which they encounter on their travels, here Cobb has focused on a fellow tourist who stands mouth open in awe at the sight before him but which remains elusive despite the reflective sunglasses.
