Artist: Schotz, Benno, RSA · 1891-1984

One of a series of works ultimately inspired by ancient olive, and other tree forms, where the branches and trunks appear suggestive of pseudo-human forms.

A work of this title in bronze was exhibited at the RSA AX 1969 (cat.11) and again at the Benno Schotz Retrospective in 1971 (149), and another piece, possibly the present work, was exhibited at RSA AX in 1976 (cat.499)

The present work was incorrectly identified as “Elizabeth and Mary – The Visitation” in the delivery list of the Benno Schotz Studio Gift.
