the original copper printing plate was worked by William Wilson and impressions taken from it by him during his lifetime. The composition bears little factual resemblance to the Eglesia del Espirito Santo in the La Ciudad district of the Spanish hill-top city of Ronda in terms of topographical accuracy. The surrounding mountains are greatly exagerrated and appear far closer to the settlement than is the case, whilst the church cannot be seen from this angle with the buildings and winding roadway of the Calle Espirito Santo as depicted.
