Landscape with Canisp and Suilven - sketch
Artist: Gillies, William George, Sir, CBE RA RSA PPRSW · 1898-1973
The drawing appears to have been made in the area close to Lochinver looking south-east towards the distant peaks of Cansip to the left and Suilven's distinctive peak to the right.
Gillies was in the general area in the summers of both 1937 and 1938 and the present sketch was probably made between scheduled stops, pulling in to a passing place on the narrow local roads.
