Printmaker: Rodger, Willie, RSA RGI DUniv · 1930-2018
Willie Rodger in a letter to the Collections Assistant dated 2005-12-18 has confirmed the medium of the print and the imagery 'The print is a lino woodcut, one of many based on/ Biblical themes. Edition of 25 - now completed!/ It is a hand printed tonal print..' (letter is in Willie Rodger's file) The genesis of the print is also discussed on the CD/ DVD 'In the hands of Willie Rodger' (2006, Media Matters) where Willie Rodger explains that originally he had included the figure of Adam next to Eve but he had then decided just to focus on Eve and the serpent/ arm. He also explains the process of tonal printing that he used for this piece.
