The artist was in Italy from Nov 2011 to Feb 2012 on a John Kinross Travel Scholarship.. The photograph uses an existing photograph by L Rossi (1991) which was spotted by the artist in a village bar and was re-photographed by Calvin Laing. It was printed to the same size as the original and mounted and framed in exactly the same manner. One version was then hung alongside the original in the village bar.
