Border Foray
Artist: Haig, The Earl, RSA · 1918-2009Publisher: Harley Brothers Ltd
Haig was introduced to Harley's in April 1958.
He had no previous experience of working in lithography and was never to deploy the medium again but he came to Harleys with the idea of 'Border Foray' already well formed and set to with enthusiasm. 'Border Foray' was drawn exclusively for the Harley print and was not a reworking of an earlier design. Editing of the print commenced on 13 May 1958.
This was the first of the Harley prints to be printed on the special making of Carisbrook paper which incorporates the Harley crest as an additional watermark.
