Haig, The Earl, RSA

1918 – 2009

Son of Field Marshall Earl Haig. Educated at Christ Church, Oxford and trained at Camberwell School of Art 1945-47. Served during the Second World War with the Greys as a General Staff Officer and was captured and carried on his painting as a prisoner of war in Colditz. He specalises in landscape painting of Scotland and also Italian scenes. He became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1988 and an Academician in 2005.
