Into an Older Land

"My painting 'Into an Older Land' was painted in 2000/ It was first shown in my Festival Exhibition at the/ Scottish Gallery in 2001. It is bothe mentioned by Ian/ Gail in the introduction and illustrated in the/ catalogue...It was exhibited again in the RSA annual ex.when/ it was held outwith the RSA pos in 2002/ 2004 ?/ It was exhibited in a solo exhibition at 'Alchemy -/ the Art of Victoria Crowe' at Drumcroon Arts Centre in Wigan/...'Into an Older Land' was used as the poster for the exhibition...It is reproduced in my book, Painted Insights...In the introduction by Dr Colin/ Bailey, an over view of recent work, its relation to earlier things/ & constantly re-worked themes.....In personal terms, this painting was a return to landscape/ imagery of Scotland - in part a response to the success/ of the retrospective work 'A Shepherd's Life' at the SNPG.....which was my work from 70 - late 80s..In part it was also the developing imagery/ of more personal issues and content."
