This painting was exhibited at the 1975 RSA Annual Exhibition catalogue number 220 , from a letter from the artist to the RSA dated 1975-04-01 it would appear that the artist carried out more work on the painting after it had initially been painted "I have been out of/ doors with it again recently and I think I have improved/ it..." letter is in James McIntosh Patrick's Deceased Member File. It would also appear from letters in this file that the Diploma Work was photographed in 1981 by Royle Publications Limited and reproduced in their "The Artists' Scotland" calendar.
