Sculptor: Schotz, Benno, RSA · 1891-1984

A portrait, one of a number throughout her life, of the sculptor's only daughter and elder child, Cherna. There are parallels between the present work and an earlier bronze, Head of a Girl with Pigtails (Girlhood) of c.1926-28 by the sculptor Dora Gordine (1895–1991), vide ArtUK [https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/head-of-a-girl-with-pigtails-girlhood-250651/search/actor:valsuani/page/2].
