Artist: Crowe, Lindsey Jayne · b. 1970
The artist, an Painting Graduate from Gray's School of Art, was in Italy on a 1995 RSA John Kinross Travel Scholarship.
The building, unidentified by the title of the work, is the West end of the Bibliotec Nazionale centrale on the Northern shore of the River Arno, viewed from the Via Antonio Magliabechi onto which it faces.
The library was founded in 1714 on the bequest to the city of the private library formed by Magliabechi. It is now the largest library in Italy and since 1743 the repository by law of every book printed in Tuscany.
