a related work was sold at Lyon & Turnbull, Edinburgh, 2016-10-26, lot 186 titled “Donegal Youth and Donkey,” 43.0 x 34.5cm (H x W), oil on board, which shows the same left hand figure from the present work with a donkey to his right against the same rock strewn hillside.
Benno Schotz; Bronze in My Blood, Gordon Wright Publishing, Edinburgh, 1981, pp.66, 70, 71 although there is no specific reference to the present work, Schotz recounts his relationship with Lamont.
