Drawn in situ from an original fresco cycle of the Legend of the True Cross by Piero della Francesca in San Francesco, Arezzo, Tuscany, during the artist's RSA John Kinross Travel Scholarship visit to Italy.
The artist's last major work was his fresco cycle of the Legend of the True Cross which covers the choir of the Basilica di San Francesco in Arezzo and was executed between 1452 and 1466 with a break during 1458-59.
