Album of photographs containing one hundred and twenty-seven photographs and calotypes by various early Scottish photographers including David Octavius Hill, Dr Thomas Keith, James Good Tunny and Dr William Walker, being views of Edinburgh mainly but including also locations on Iona, Inverkeithing, etc
Many of the Edinburgh views concentrate on buildings or parts of the city which had been condemned and set for demolition on public health grounds. They thus provide a critical historcal record
