Interior at Willowbrae Road
Artist: Gillies, William George, Sir, CBE RA RSA PPRSW · 1898-1973
An interior view of the Gillies' family home at 162 Willowbrae Road, Edinburgh, where they lived from 1929 to 1939.
The composition of this sketch showing two separate rooms apparently from a linked doorway became the foundation for one of Gillies' largest and most important oil paintings, "Interior" of c.1938.
