Artist: Michie, David Alan Redpath, Professor, OBE RSA RGI FRSA(Scot) · 1928-2015

The artist's daughter Lindsey Michie in conversation with Sandy Wood RSA Collections Curator on 2016-09-15 said that the sitter was the girlfriend of a member of staff at ECA whose interview panel had included David Michie. Following the appointment however discrepancies were discovered in his CV and he was disciplined or dismissed. The incident left a sour taste in the artist's mouth and the Michie family accordingly held no great love for the portrait.
