The only clue to the possible intended orientation of this piece lies in the comparative depths of the top and bottom margins, a deeper margin traditionally being found on the bottom edge of a work. On this basis the work has been accessioned on that orientation. There is a piece of unknown width missing from the right side of the image, where the support has been neatly trimmed
