Thomas Coats Memorial Church, Paisley
Draughtsman: Davison, Thomas Raffles · 1853-1937Architect: Blanc, Hippolyte Jean, RSA · 1844-1917
Blanc won the competition to design this Church in 1885 (http://www.scottisharchitects.org.uk/architect_full.php?id=200031). In 1892 "Coats Memorial Church, Paisley" was exhibited at the Royal Academy, catalogue number 1761. This may have been the same piece as the Diploma Work. On close inspection of the Diploma Work pencil perspective lines can be seen next to the crown spire and evidence of the two conical spires having been drawn in pencil initially and then rubbed out.
