Earlshall Fife the House and Garden as Restored 1890-1894 For R.W. Mackenzie Esq of Earlshall

Lorimer was the architect for the restoration work carried out at Earlshall near Luchars in Fife. This project was one of the first commissions that he received upon his return to Scotland from London and that he worked on between 1890 and 1894, the owner of Earlshall, R. W. Mackenzie was an old family friend of the Lorimers. In 1895 Lorimer exhibited "Earlshall, Fife, N.B" catalogue number 1446 at the Royal Academy and in 1896 he exhibited a piece with a similar title to the Diploma Work at the RSA, catalogue number 502 "Earlshall, Fife - house and garden as restored for R.W.R Mackenzie Esq of Earlshall. This may be the same piece as the Diploma Work. The NMRS holds drawings for the work at Earlshall (1892) in its collection.
