By the Shepherd's Fire

Pirie took some time to finally deposit a permanent Diploma Work. In 1923 he submitted a temporary work, see letter from Pirie to the Secretary of the RSA dated 1923-12-06 "I am in no way negligent/ in the matter of my Diploma Picture./ It is so important that/ the Academy gets the very best one/ can do, that I have so far been/ unable to select one to submit..." (letter in Archive Box "20th Century Letters, Academy" ) "By the Shepherd's Fire" appears to have possibly been exhibited at the RGI in 1936 catalogue number 316.
