A similarly titled work "Chris" was exhibited at the RSA in 1989 as part of "The Morrison Scottish Portrait Award Exhibition" catalogue number 20. The artist has explained in a letter that the Diploma Work was "part of a series of low relief panels originally worked in clay then cast in/ resin/bronze in 1990. I was working on four life size wood relief panels at the/ same time for the Morrison Portrait Competition...." See letter from Frances Pelly in hanging file "Articles on Painters."
