One of a series of limited edition artist's prints published by Harley Brothers Ltd, a Commercial Lithographic Printers, in a pioneering experiment during the late 1950s and early 1960s
Barcham Green’s paper mill was at Hayle Mill in Kent which opened in 1808 and was run by the Green family until it closed in 1987.
Chris Allen in his monograph Artists at Harleys, Pioneering Printmaking in the 1950s states on p.16 “it was found that the best results were most consistently obtained from Barcham Green’s ‘Crisbrook,’ which was less heavily sized and also available in waterleaf (unsized) form.”
