Watt, George Fiddes, RSA

1873 – 1960

Commenced as an apprentice to a firm of lithographers and attended night classes at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen. On moving to Edinburgh he studied at the RSA Life School. He spent a period in London before settling once more in Aberdeen. He fulfilled many portrait commissions of important figures. He also produced some landscapes. He exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibitions from 1897 until 1942. He became an Associate Member of the RSA in 1910 and an Academician in 1924.
