Adam, Patrick William, RSA

1854 – 1929

Educated at Edinburgh Academy and at the Royal Scottish Academy Life School under William McTaggart and George Paul Chalmers. First exhibited at the Annual Exhibition of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1872 and continued to exhibit until 1929. Produced portraits and landscapes but is best known for his interiors. In later years travelled to Italy, Rome and Venice. He was elected to Associate Membership of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1883 and became an Academician in 1897. He was a founder Member of the Society of Eight in 1912.
