The Royal Scottish Academy is committed to respecting copyright and other intellectual property
rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Images and data associated with the artworks featured on the RSA website may be reproduced for
non-commercial research and private study purposes, as well as other uses permitted under the
Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, as amended and revised.
However, for all other uses, those seeking to reproduce images of artworks need to actively obtain
further consent from the RSA Picture Library. Where the artwork is in copyright (the artist is alive or
died within the last 70 years), further permissions may also be needed from the artist(s), their estates
or nominated rights holder(s). The RSA may be able to help those seeking clearance of further rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RSA\u2019s approach to copyright<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The RSA has made all reasonable efforts to ensure that images on its website are reproduced with
consent of their copyright holders and the respective collections. However, there are some copyright
holders who so far have proved to be untraceable. Any information or queries should be addressed to
collections@royalscottishacademy.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Takedown policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The RSA undertakes to remove images if requested to do so by copyright holders.
If you hold rights in an image on the RSA website and do not agree with its reproduction, you can
request the image’s removal by writing to
collections@royalscottishacademy.org<\/a> and stating the
