Laide, Ross-shire
Artist: Gillies, William George, Sir, CBE RA RSA PPRSW · 1898-1973
The present work was probably painted by Gillies on his return to 162 Willowbrae Road, Edinburgh, from sketches made on his recorded trips to Laide in the July of both 1937 and 1938, but could have been painted en plein air during one of these trips.
