commemorative publication for the Glasgow National Exhibition of 1911, held from 1911-05-03 and 1911-11-04 in Kelvingrove Park to raise funds to endow a chair of Scottish History and Literature at the University of Glasgow. It included reconstructions of vernacular Scottish architecture, ranging from an entire street to individual buildings. In addition there were specially constructed buildings, The Palace of Art, and the Hall of Industry, in which exhibitions of art and industrial products were displayed. The venture was accompanied by a range of associated souvenirs ranging from sets of real photographic postcards, souvenir brochures, engraved drinking glasses and glass jugs, and lapel pins to original art such as the present portfolio.
