Benno Schotz; Bronze in My Blood, Gordon Wright Publishing, Edinburgh, 1981, pp.110-112; although there is no specific reference to the present work, Schotz recounts his relationship with McGlashan who was a close neighbour in Park Road, Glasgow, shortly after Schotz was married in 1927. The present work may well have been a gift from McGlashan to Schotz, perhaps a wedding present, or was purchased from or exchanged with McGlashan by Schotz, as suggested by a printed label by the donor on the verso.
