Tomb III

Artist: MacLeod, Isla · b. 1988

Image depicts the interior of a tomb. There is a stone bench like structure with black hole to its left at the lower centre. Pencil marks depict the brick walls of the tomb. Pencil outlined clay marks flow up and outward from the centre to depict the tomb’s roof. The grain of the wood is clearly visible through the paper, watercolour and clay. Thread is sewn around two stone like forms to the right edge before protruding and hanging down beneath the work.

The artist was inspired by Tuscan tombs and circular buildings. Forms, notes and background for the work in “Acquisitions – Kinross Scholarship” file.
