Tomb II
Artist: MacLeod, Isla · b. 1988
Image depicts the interior of an entrance to a tomb. There is a doorway with black sides to the centre. Clay filled pencil stones lead through the doorway to the interior that is shaded in clay. The grain of the wood is clearly visible through the paper, watercolour and clay. Thread is sewn around the top and bottom of the receding walls before protruding and hanging down beneath the work.
The artist was inspired by Tuscan tombs and circular buildings. Forms, notes and background for the work in “Acquisitions – Kinross Scholarship” file.
