In a letter to the RSA dated 12th February 2009, Agnew discusses his Diploma Work "The year for the/ piece is 2007...The content explores the idea of/ the autobiographical and visualises imagery/ from my life, past and present. I had hoped/ it would convey a flavour of all my interests,/ both contextually and visually./ Each object/ conveys a 'time' throughout my life..'.
