In the Chapel of St Jean, Treboul

The work work titled " In The Church of St Jean, Treboul" was exhibited at the RSA in 1954 catalogue number 335.
There is a gouache study, dated 1953 "Sculpted Figure from the Chapel of St Jean, Treboul" that appears to relate to the Diploma Work. See the Scottish Gallery catalogue for their 10th February to 5th March 2003 exhibition "Anne Redpath, Oils and Works on Paper."
The study is reproduced as a colour plate and is accompanied by the following commentary "This gouache shows a polychrome sculpture of the/ Archangel Gabriel from an Annunciation tableau which/ spans the altar of the Bretagne church of St Jean at/ Treboul. The resultant oil titled 'In the Chapel of St Jean,/ Treboul' was the painting the artist presented to the R.S.A./ as her Diploma Work."
See also Bonhams 'The Scottish Sale' 2006 catalogue as this sale included a study 'Church of St Jean, Treboul', catalogue number 1138 and reproduced as a colour plate on page 236 of catalogue. The study is very loose and depicts the statue of the Virgin and a saint next to her.
