An identically titled work "Surf" was exhibited by Cursiter at the RSA Annual Exhibition in 1932 catalogue number 325.
A letter dated 1937-12-11 from the Secretary of the RSA to The President Sir George Pirie in archive box "Loans to Exhibitions 1907 - 1945" indicates that the Diploma Work was also exhibited in Liverpool in 1937 and that for this reason it could not be released as his Diploma Work "until 8th January".
