The Bowlers

Harvey's original oil of 1850, titled Village Bowlers, was exhibited that year at the RA and in 1852 at the Liverpool Academy. It was purchased by the Liverpool art collector John Miller who lent it to the 1853 RSA Annual Exhibition (cat. 56). It subsequently passed into the collection of Sir Donald Currie who gifted it to the NGS in 1907 (NG949)
