The work was inspired by the Santa Maria Obelisk, Florence during his Kinross Scholarship stay in Florence in 2016, but the cast was made after his return to Edinburgh. It is one of a series of 6 casts which the artist showed at the Kinross Portfolio meeting from which this and three others (2017.011 – 2017.014 inc.) were selected for the RSA collection.
