It is possible that the sculptor cast numerous copies of each animal as an individual figure and then assembled different groupings. Viners Antiques at Pickering in West Yorkshire for example (at 2018-03-28) had for sale a related piece with what appears to be the exact same dog, but with a differently posed horse carrying a different saddle, and on the same, or similar baseplate.
