The Gillies family left their native Haddington on their purchase of the house at 162 Willowbrae Road, Edinburgh in 1929. This was a bungalow with attic semi-detached property on the junction between Willowbrae Road and Ulster Drive.
This specific location of this view has not been identified but rad sandstone properties appear further south-east from the Gillies house.
