farm near Coldingham Moor
Artist: Gillies, William George, Sir, CBE RA RSA PPRSW · 1898-1973
Gillies made a painting trip to Coldingham and the nearby fishing villages of St. Abbs and Eyemouth in the summer of 1955 and returned the following year when the present sketch was made.
Coming off the A1 just north of Cockburnspath the ancient village of Coldingham, dominated by the ruins and remnants of its Priory, is approached via the road across Coldingham Moor.
