Piazza Maggiore, Bologna
Artist: Perch-Nielsen, Anna Zette · b. 1972
The work is composed of a series of colour photographs individually shot as the artist panned round the Piazza Maggiore in Bologna during her time in Italy on the 2001 John Kinross Travel Scholarship.
The square sits at the heart of the city and was commenced in 1200. No fewer than four Palaces and one Basillica front onto it.
Between 1944 and 1945 it was briefly renamed after the Italian King Vittorio Emanuele II.
