Tamar
Sculptor: Schilsky, Eric Clare Telford, RSA · 1898-1974
In 1963 Eric Schilsky exhibited a piece entitled "Tamar" at the RSA catalogue number 28 and at the RA "Tamar - head, bronze" catalogue number 1249. 'Tamar' is reproduced in "The Royal Academy Illustrated" as a black and white plate on page 54, it looks identical to the Diploma Work but according to the Bourne Fine Art catalogue "Eric Schilsky RA RSA1898-1974" where a piece entitled "Tamar" was was exhibited "A cast of this bronze was presented to the Royal Scottish Academy by the artist as his Diploma Work." This suggests that the exhibited pieces are not necessarily the same piece as the Diploma Work.
