'Shere Khan' the Tiger

Phyllis Bone exhibited a number of large cat sculptures at the RSA including panthers and leopards as well as tigers. A similar piece to the Diploma Work "Shere Khan, The Tiger" is in the collection of Aberdeen Art Gallery (Acc. No. ABDAG004585) and is reproduced as a black and white plate in "Scottish Sculpture, A Record of Twenty Years" (1946). In 1935 she exhibited a piece at the RGI 'Shere Khan The Tiger - statuette (bronze) catalogue number 70 which may have been the Diploma Work or Aberdeen piece.
