This may be the same work as was exhibited at the 1976 RSA Annual Exhibition, titled 'House for Mr & Mrs Morris - sketch design', cat. no. 312. On 02/03/2011 Robert R Steedman RSA confirmed the work to be a sketch design by James Morris of his residence in Woodcote, Fala, Midlothian, prior to its construction. James Morris' comments of the philosophy of house design of his practice Morris and Steedman is cited in his obituary in The Herald of 2006-08-19 "We were able to put ideas that/ were suited to the climate of/ Scotland and to the need of/ modern living. Great care/ was taken with an inglenook for the/ long winter nights, for glass/ enclosures to make the most of/ the Scottish sunshine and give/ protection from the winds, and/ to open up the wonderful views/ of the Scottish countryside".
