In 1946 John Ross McKay exhibited a similarly titled piece at the RSA "Abbey National Building Society, 9-11 Hope Street, Edinburgh" catalogue number 557. This exhibited piece was probably the same piece as the Diploma Work. He also exhibited "9 & 11 Hope Street, Edinburgh" at the RGI in 1947 catalogue number 223 again this may have been the same piece as the Diploma Work.

Nothing so far has been discovered about the draughtsman.
