Moorland landscape
[creator]: Sinclair, Alexander Garden, ARSA · 1859-1930
Originally ascribed to Alick Riddell Sturrock, RSA, the re-attribution by Nicola Ireland rests on the reading of the monogram as "aGS" as used by Sinclair on his painting Horses Harrowing, oil on canvas in the National Gallery of Scotland Collection (NG2175), whereas Sturrock signed his works "A.R.Sturrock."
