Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire
Architect: Mears, Frank Charles, Sir, PPRSA RSA · 1880-1953Draughtsman: Naismith, Robert James · 1916-2004
Although Mears was the architect of Invermoriston Bridge, the Diploma Work drawing was actually produced by Naismith who worked with Mears from the early nineteen forties and who entered into partnership with him in 1952. It is possible that the watercolour drawing was produced from copying the black and white photograph (1994.349.2) In 1934 a piece was exhibited at the RSA by the practice of Mears & Carolus- Wilson "Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire (in collab with Messrs Blyth & Blyth, Engineers)" and again by the practice in 1951 "Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire". Mears himself exhibited "Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire" in 1941 and again in 1944 "Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire" and finally in 1953 "Invermoriston Bridge, Inverness-shire".
