An identically titled painting "Storm Clouds - Strath - Fillan" was exhibited at the RSA in 1920 catalogue number 227 and priced at £105.00 and in 1921 "Storm Clouds - Strathfillan" was exhibited at the RGI catalogue number 213 priced at £125.00. These two exhibited pieces may be the same piece as the Diploma Work. In 1922 the Diploma Work was exhibited at the RA catalogue number 234 see letter dated 1922-08-31 is in archive box "20th Century Letters, Academy" in this letter the artist states that "my picture 'Storm Clouds, Strath Fillan' has just come from/ the R.A. where it was exhibited & I propose asking the President and Council of the RSA to accept/ it as my Diploma Work..." the RSA does not hold the catalogue.
