The present work was printed at Peacock Printmakers in Aberdeen and is one of a number of prints made there by Baxter who was involved in helping establish the workshop and served on its first Board of Directors. Baxter's involvement with Peacock extended over twenty-five years.

This is one of many screenprints of Aberdeen streetscapes made by Baxter at Peacocks. Specifically it was made for the 'Aberdeen Streets' an exhibition of prints by Bill Baxter, Jimmie Furneaux, Don Kelman and Willie Watson. The exhibition was first shown in ArtSpace Gallery on Castle Street before touring round non-art venues in the North East of Scotland.

Direct photostencils from ortho positives were made by exposing a photographic image through a handpainted glass screen. Two different lengths of exposure gave two tonal separations. The blue and green stencil was altered with a blue filter.

The work is part of one of many projects involving Scottish artists working in collaboration with Peacock
