Memorial Tablet to Reverend George Walter Strang MA in Castlehill Parish Church, Campbeltown ascribed to F N Bose ARSA
Bose himself may have been responsible for the photography however he is known to have had his own portrait taken by the Edinburgh-based commercial photographer Drummond Young whilst another Edinburgh photographer Francis Caird Inglis recorded other of Bose's sculptural works and he may have engaged either of them to record this piece.
The piece depicts a memorial tablet to a Church of Scotland Minister, the Reverend George Walter Strang MA for 47 years the minister of Castlehill Parish Church in Campbeltown.
The unveiling took place on Sunday 6 January 1924 and was covered in the Campbeltown Courier the following Saturday where the plaque is described as having been "designed and executed by Mr Charles Henshaw, Bronze Founder, Edinburgh," however the portrait bust would appear to be the work of Bose.
